I wonder how many of you monitor the gold and silver markets out there? 1. Often (more than daily)
    2. Daily :kewl:
    3. Weekly
    4. Not at all (just not interested)

Unless I am specifically refrenceing a spot price, I don't look. I may check in once a month or so just for general perpose.

Interested hoping silver will go up , not that much influence on type coins .
Hoping gold will go down , for selfish reasons , gold coins are too high . Look about 1x a month .

Most of the value of my collection is numismatic.
Metal prices have essentially no effect on my coins.

I look probably twice a month, as I do have some silver bars.

yeah, i've found for the price per oz silver is a good buy if you're getting into buying bars.. the only trouble is they don't go up as quick.. so you won't get as quick of a return, but you your chances of loosing a bunch isn't as great either. If silver jumps like gold did, then all of us with a lot of silver coins will be jumping for joy.

I look daily as it's part of my daily portfolio online. I don't care so much for numismatic reasons so much as it's a good indicator of world markets as a whole.

Not directly, no. But I do play the stock-market game online. My portfolio centers around gold investment and mining interests, so I can usually guess the state of the bullion market through that.

And yes, I also have a few shares of Collector's Universe (PCGS parent company).

Check the prices at least three times a day...is the sky falling yet?

Only watch it here when someone asks these questions.
Doesn't anyone care about the price of copper? That would be more my speed.
I have about 200lbs or more of copper Lincolns right now and cannot figure out what to do with them. Should I make a big sculpture in my front yard? Maybe make a park bench from them. Scatter them about town so the kids can find them?
The coin dealer will only give 1 1/2 cents per coin at this time.

    Hey Coleguy,
Now that is a really good way to cover up any defects on the surface of a car.
I wonder though, is it going to get the dreaded verdigris disease?
Betcha no one will try to carjack that!
Hmm... gas mileage will decrease with that much more weight.
Can't imagine trying to wash off bird droppings.
Taking it to the beach would be sudden death to the coins.
The highway patrol might say it is too unusual and will cause a traffic hazard so won't let me license it for the road.

No, like Green says, hold onto those coppers...

    Thanks guys,
    jeankay

Ditto - same here. I look 2-3 times a day waiting for silver to spike $50 oz so I can call a broker, cash out & celebrate :) Oh .. and tell my boss to take a flying leap off a tall mountain.

Personally, I would guess that I check it hourly. I'm always bidding coins somewhere and I always forget what the current rate is, but I also check the Kitco stories when I have time to read.
