A high starting price. If he had started it lower with better pics he might have got more. Just under 63 money if it's unc. Looks decent. You probably did ok depending on the reverse and that it is as nice as it looks.
Like you said, Hard to tell in plastic. I'm hoping it's the plastic . Set reminders for your auctions.Everyone was watching another morgan that sold for 160 when this ended. Maybe they were all distracted. ha distracted.
I'm a bit worried about the reverse. I think that scratch on the right is the plastic but that wing is frightening...uhg. also the top rim obverse. I think is is a fail. What's up with that mint mark? Looks rotated.???
Your screen captures aren't the best. The mintmark is hand-punched into the die, so it is not uncommon for them to be slightly off. It would be better if you just gave us a link to the auction. It looks to me like there is very little luster. I would expect to see much more luster if, as the seller contends, it was "Gem PQ". I don't think so! Chris
These look like scans rather than photos to me, so it might be premature to worry about the luster. That big scratch on the right reverse is worrisome, though; it looks like metal to me.
The listing pics aren't so great. I hope it was just bad photography. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/143470337319
I decided to donate a little to eBay last night, LOL. That “coin” looks wrong to me. If I had to guess someone just paid $338 for a modern reproduction. What does the reverse look like?
Oh, and please do consider getting rid of the animated avatar. It's super-distracting, especially when you've got several posts in a row.
Looking at the listing for the coin in your OP. Unless I'm missing something, that's a common date Morgan. Zooming in on the reverse, the chest feathers don't look defined enough to me to be an MS. I've got a graded MS63 (and an MS 65) Morgan on ebay right now. And the chest feathers look more defined. Could be that my camera is just better. I would take a very close look at that coin when you get it. Looks like you could return it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1886-Morgan-silver-dollar-Brilliant-MS63-NGC-Olathe-hoard/124011241368
