Sorry, but there's no doubling on your coin.

I found a couple dimes in my penny rolls, and a nickel in my quarter roll...

I did a quick hunt of some local banks today. Got 5 rolls from one bank all wrapped the same.

The first roll was all clad.

The second roll looked like this:
    20191214_7789.JPG

    3 64's and 17 40%er's. About 3.5 ounces.

The third roll (I was hoping for solid silver...) was all clad.
The fourth roll (I was hoping for solid silver...) was all clad.
The fifth roll (I was STILL hoping for solid silver...) was all clad.

Some mixed emotions for this hunt. Super happy to find a solid roll...wishing it had been 5 solid rolls. Hey, you can't blame me for hoping...

Heck yes, I dread dumping halves. I suppose I should ask my main dump bank if they prefer to provide me with bags because they currently require rolled coin. My secondary dump bank of the same local chain provides me bags because it’s easier for them and me. I’ve learned it definitely depends on the desire of the head teller.

I’m not searching much at present. Too busy at work and also leaving the state for a two week vacation...Resisting the strong temptation to place an order for halves in Hawaii!

After a big drought, finally hit some fun boxes of halves with 12 90%ers, 39 40%ers, my first '74 D DDO and an '82 "no FG" that might be pretty nice if I could figure out how to get the scotch tape off the back that looks like it's been stuck there for decades. :)

Alcohol or acetone will remove the tape

Could either of these be errors?

Penny box hunt today. Lots of zinc and just a handful of wheaties. Fortunately, there were some nice prewar finds. 5 Pre-War Wheats w years.jpg

    Long story:
On my way home from work tonight I spontaneously decided to do my bank run to the far side of town. First bank, the teller said he has $2.50 in loose halves, so I said I’d like to buy them. No other tellers had halves. He very carefully and slowly counted them out to me on the countertop. I could see they’re all Cu-Ni. I began to think that was it, and then he offered to check the vault. I said I would appreciate it. He left, and returned a couple minutes later. He announced there were $530 in rolls in the vault. I was leary of picking up another hunter’s dump because I’ve found them at this bank in the past. I told the teller I’d like to buy $200 worth. He left and returned with 20 rolls, all customer rolls. As he was counting the rolls out to me I spotted writing on one roll, “silver 1967”. Although it was difficult to stay cool, I calmly asked to buy all the rolls from the vault, and apologized for putting him to more trouble. He politely left and returned with the remaining 33 rolls, which were a mix of cwr’s and mwr’s. Again, as he counted out the rolls to me I spotted writing on one of them, “silver 1968”. I was pumped!

Here’s the total based on rolls marked “silver...”

    There are 6, 64’s and the others are 40%. 1 of the 40% is a ‘67 SMS.

Here are the remaining customer rolls I haven’t searched yet.

I won’t have time to search them until I return from vacation in a couple weeks, but I think there may be more silver in my future...No matter. I’m totally satisfied with my early Christmas gift!!!

    Happy holidays everyone!

Edit: The mwrs from the first bank were a bust. The other two banks I checked had a total of $90 in cwr halves, but there were no collectibles inside the rolls.

Cazkaboom One for all, all for me.

    @berto
How cruel would it be if they labeled them silver but left you with junk?

This has happened to me except the “silver” has been struck out with a pen, as if someone at the bank sniped the silver.
