Meow had three quarter rolls leftover from a bank run a few days ago and just opened them. Meow found a foreign coin in each, and a D mint Arizona type that Meow has not ever found before. The Arizona has a very cleanly obliterated designer initials, and not the usual die crack called the extra cactus. Compare it to the normal quarter also pictured.
At least they were coins. Wait until you find a button in a roll, and you don't have a single item of clothing with buttons the same size or a metal washer in a roll when you just bought a package of them at the hardware store because you needed one. Chris
I agree, actually surprisingly new 5 baht, it is Rama X, who took over from the longest serving monarch in the 20th century, Rama IX.
I was thinking he looked a little different then the bespectacled guy on most of the Thai coins I see.
They most likely won't pass if attempting to be used in coin machines. I empty my change in a bowl at the end of every day. I then roll my coins once every two months. I usually have between 4 to 6 rolls of quarters that I bring to the bank to exchange for paper currency. They never check the rolls when I bring them in or take down my account number in the event that I'm just passing slugs or whatnot. I'm sure people do the same, but throw whatever they got into the rolls to complete them. If their one quarter short of a full roll, they probably just throw whatever they can find into it. It's most likely done on purpose though because I've yet to find a US dollar coin accidentally put inside a roll of quarters. All the coins shown above, I've found every one of those at the self serve carwash sitting right on top of the coin receiver box, especially the Korean one.
And you probably won't because the dollar coin is larger than a quarter and would have problems fitting in the roll. There is a good chance the Panama coin would. We used to strike those coins for Panama, and we struck them on US quarter planchets. I don't know if the composition has changed since we stopped making them, but the size is probably still the same.
I've found that Panama coin and a RUSSIAN coin in rolls of Quarters. I've also found a Quarter in a roll of Dollars. I hate when that happens... May I ask why Meow speaks of himself/herself/theirself in third person?
The dollar coins I'm referring to are the Susan B's. The newer dollar coins are much different then the quarters.
