I've always been fascinated by varieties (RPMs, OMM, Doubled Dies, ...) and errors on world coins. It's such an under-documented area and very hard to find information. I've recently been on a search for different varieties and hope to document them so that others can learn as I learn and maybe, just maybe, create some broader interest in world varieties and errors.

I couldn't find a thread already out there, so if there is one, point me in that direction and I'll post on there. If not, feel free to post your favorite error/variety or show off some new acquisition.

I'll kick it off with one I received recently. This is a 1955 5 Centavos from Guatemala that displays a strong tripled obverse die. This example is hindered some by the toning which makes it a little harder to see, but it was had pretty cheap and I didn't have one of these yet.

And here's the reverse just for context.

I can't tell if this one is a real DDO or just MD.

I've picked up a few from Japan. Got a neat DDO 20 sen I couldn't find the pix for quickly. And some nice clashings too.

Yeah we could but why ? There is absolutely no harm in having 2 threads or a 100 of them on the same subject for that matter. And anybody who wants to can participate in either or both if they wish to - or not.

It's not a question of being right or wrong. The entire point is there is no right or wrong !
