I'm new to this and have absolutely no coin experience. I'm wondering if any of the coins listed have any value to them. The Kellogg & co. $20 coin everything is legible and pretty good detail, heavy, stamped copy on the back. I received these two as change about 15 years ago and they have been in an envelop since in the condition as I received them. The 1909 wheat penny all words are legible & some detail has faded (pretty good since it's almost 100 years old). 1918 wheat penny about the same condition as the 1909 HOWEVER, where it's cleary stamped United States of America - it reads UNITED STATES OF A ERICA. I wish I could post pictures, but I don't know how. Any assistance would be appreciated.
welcome to the forum Samario, your 1918 sounds like a grease filled die, preventing the Die to fully press onto the coin, thus having details left off of your coin. Have you checked you 1909 cent for a mint mark? It will either have an S on it or it will have no mintmark at all. also between the two wheat stocks there might be tiny letters that say "VDB", these are the designers initials. If it has the designers initials thats good news, if it also has the S mint mark, its even better news!
Where would these marks located? I don't see anything just looking at them. You mentioned very tiny initials would I need a magnify glass to see it? If I can get them posted, I think that would be alot easier, since you are familiar with what to look for.
samario: Welcome. From the S (mintmark fo San Francisco) ook under the date. For the VDB look on the back (reverse) at the bottom near the rim (very bottom). A magnifying glass may help, but it isn't necessary.
