Just came in the mail last night, one of the more difficult notes to get in The Series 611, a real prize havent really concentrated on the Series Except for the $10 Marylyn Monroe note which was a find in 66, which Doesnt sound very impressive but when you consider that there,s only 1 67 in population the rareity of a 66 is clear.
Because unlike regular currency the date isn't on the bills, the TPGs should really tell us what time period these MPCs are from.
I agree, thats important information and should be included on the label But that,s what i am here for Series 611 Issued 1/6/64 Withdrawn 4/28/69 Countries used: Cyprus, Japan, Korea and Libya
1920 Germany Der Ginot 50 pfennig notgeld. I recently acquired a small lot of 14 notes of this sort, all UNC, and I just wonder if they are modern reproductions.
I somewhat doubt they’d be reproduced, as notgeld are largely not really valuable enough to fake. Really pretty though!
Thanks for your input, and I am glad I did not pay much for them! Here is another, labeled as 1919 Coburg 50 pfennig.
MPC, why did the military issue these MPC's as low as 5 cents ? If they created these in the first place to track armed forces buying and economic activity, why worry about "change" less than $1 ? No way they needed to or even could be that specific during the accounting of these MPCs. I would think even $10 might be OK for the lowest denomination, certainly $1.
In Vietnam we had MPC small change paper notes. I think there were 50, 25, 10, and 5 cents. Of course we needed small change as most things at the PX were quite cheap. It was a court marshal offense to possess green backs. Could be wrong about the denominations, that was a long time ago. Wish I had saved some of that money now.
Well i dont want to scare you but the above is listed at : US $2,550.00 This is listed on ebay right now by an auction house. There is one 68 in population, and i think that went for $3,200 In comparison got my 64 for under $750, and thats a great deal When you consider the alternative.
The Series 661 was the first series to include the $20 denomination All previous ones maxed out at $10, this one is from my private Collection it not only is the highest graded 68PPQ but the only 1 In population,
There’s a thread for this...https://www.cointalk.com/threads/military-payment-currency-guide.340972/page-9
Went ahead and purchased this the other day. Currently waiting for its arrival and now on the hunt for a 1914 $100 FRN to complete my 1914 series.
End, you have some great notes, why aren't you showing us full-size pics ? Or am I clicking on them wrong ?
