So I came across this 1915S Lincoln. I've been debating buying it but haven't done it yet. It's described as a GEM BU but it's priced in the MS60 range. It's going for $449. According to ANAC standards a GEM BU is supposed to be in the MS65 range--but I'm not naive enough to think this seller is listing a $4500 coin for $449. So two questions--1). In your opinion is $449 a reasonable price and 2). If you want to venture a range you think this is in that would be great--I won't hold it against you,lol. Any help would be appreciated
I my unprofessional opinion, don't buy it. It could be the pictures, but I have some that look to be around the same quality which I got simply by trading. Keep in mind my opinion is based only on appearance, not mint, year, ect.
From those pictures, the coin appears to be circulated and cleaned / reprocessed /recolored. I wouldn't touch it with a 100-foot pole.
Thank you. The part that bothers me is you can usually see the 2 horizontal marks below the lapel on every Lincoln--not so much on this one. The whole area looks not right to me
Way to much texture in that surface, I wonder how many times that coin has been cleaned? More than once I’d venture to guess. Reed

I have to ask, is this coin offered by a dealer. If so I’d put that dealer on my never buy from list. Any dealer worth his or her salt wouldn’t touch that coin with a ten foot pole. I took a look at eBay and the offerings are great for that year and mintmark. From lower end raw at $40.00 or less to high end slabbed coins for to much money. I’d wait and find the right coin if your willing to pay close to $500.00 you will find a nice honest example that you can enjoy. Reed.
Roger, several are mentioning the color, but I thought this was your photos and if it was on a white background, your color levels are very boosted. Adjust until the background appears correct and the rest of the colors will be more indicative. I agree with the forum on the grade and value. Much top high, but it may be the color setting that overwhelms the natural surface color. Jim
I have two I got from eBay. This one was for 170. And this one was for 137.50. I discussed this a little back in the post https://www.cointalk.com/threads/post-your-lincolns.192928/page-221#post-2659399. I can’t promise you will find comparables, but keep at it.
