Got a denarius of Sabina finally, one of the chicks that has been on my want list for quite some time. I've always had kind of a "thing" for her. I think if I ever write erotic time travel Roman fan fiction, I'll have me star in a fling her instead of Seutonius. I don't think Hadrian would mind that much anyway. Anyway, I've probably shared to much, so here is my Sabina coin. Sabina, AR Denarius, A.D. 128- 137 O: SABINA AVGVSTA; Draped bust right, R: CONCORDIA AVG; Concordia seated left, holding patera and sceptre, and resting left elbow on column. 18mm, 3.1g RIC II Rome 391 I also picked up this denarius of Trajan. I knew Trajan was her (adopted) father in law, but if I knew he was her great uncle, I had forgotten. I sort of needed to flesh out my Trajan coinage a bit, only have one rough AE to represent him. Nice Sabina and Trajan! Now, all you need to make the drama perfect are a Hadrian and an Antinous. I feel bad for her. She was stuck in a loveless marriage for political reasons, and unlike her husband who could play around with his young Greek lover, as the wife of an emperor she had to be the spitting image of a stoic Roman matron.

I read that novel recently and quite enjoyed it, I'd definitely recommend it. Sabina does indeed appear as a character, and actually has an impact on the plot. Although, as for @chrsmat71 's mention of "erotic time travel" fiction, I should warn that there is no time travel, and I would not describe the writing or plot as "erotic" (your tastes may vary, I suppose, but there is nothing in the book that wouldn't be allowed under this site's posting rules).
Nice coins, everybody. I really like Sabina's coins and backstory (being married to Hadrian couldn't've been easy). I am reading Marguerite Yourcenar's Memoirs of Hadrian at the moment and she hasn't been in it much so far. I only have two coins. Sabina is very hard to find in the bottom-feeding searches I do - once she is spotted, the price tends to go up. The worn as came in an undescribed lot. The denarius is the same as the OP - so I initially thought, but the obverse legend is different. There's a little green on the obverse which might indicate a fourree.
