Need help figuring out another aluminum error

But I’ve got 2 rn. And thought it was removed by acid to fool people into thinking it’s a rare steel penny that’s not 1943. But wouldn’t by taking acid and removing the coating decrease the weight? The 1988 d weighs 2.42grams and the 1988 no mint mark weighing2.51grams hmm I’m confused AB09D409-285F-44A8-9455-E5167AB0FD42.jpeg

    No need to be confused.. Many coins have a minus or plus varience in weight. Your Cent is a normal copper plated zinc cent. Nothing at all to do with aluminum.
