What kind of error is this? And is it rare? 1st one I've found

    DDD - Die Deterioration Doubling

    Definitely a Worn die strike

    (And it's actually Doubled Die.. Not double die)

    I can bet my life Paddy never said it was a double die.....unless he was referring to 2 people jumping off a 50 story building together.

    Oh ok my bad. I could have sworn I read that there is such thing as doubled die and double die.. and they are 2 different things.. I could be wrong though. Obviously my memory isn't the best.

    Maybe I can explain.
    Doubled Die is 1 Die that is Doubled and when it strikes a blank planchet once it has a doubled image. That would be a variety.

    A double strike is 1 die that strikes the blank planchet more than once causing a double struck image. That would be an error not a variety.

    I hope that makes more sense.
