Last week, I listed and sold a bag of wheats, described as " 5000 count common wheat bag "

Now the guy wants to return it because...........................drum roll

" All I found was common wheats "!!!!!

This is the kind of guy who would find a 14-D in there and want a refund on the other 4,999.

Interesting claim. How do you know you are getting back all the same coins you sent out? The buyer could switch some out on you.

    Sucks Jack.

May want to go with a real big font in those auctions.

ATTENTION IDIOTS - I SAID COMMON DATES AND I MEAN IT. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE BRAIN DAMAGED.

Course they wouldn't read that would they.

Chuckle, perhaps you weren't specific enough about the coins being COMMON dates.

I'd say you have a really good case for refusing to accept the return since you sent him exactly what you advertised. Actually, according to eBay rules AFAIK, the only way you can be compelled to honor a return is if what the buyer received doesn't match what was advertised (unless you posted a return policy that says otherwise).

If it were me I'd say "Read the auction. I never promised or even hinted that anything in the bag would be anything other than a common wheat cent. Your complaint that that's all you received, is therefore invalid, so I'm not taking them back. If you try to complain to eBay about that, that is precisely what I'll tell them, and eBay rules are on my side in that regard. And if you give me negative for that, I'm blocking you from all future auctions of mine. Have a nice day."

Might cost you a customer but that's the kind of customer you can do without anyway.

Whatever you decide to do with this situation, I would advise that you go ahead and block this blockhead from bidding on anything else that you sell.

If you decide to accept the coins and refund the purchase, you can file for a mutual agreememnt to cancel the transaction and recoupe your fee's from Ebay.

It's in the same screen that you file for an unpaid invoice. You would have to issue th erefund first though if they paid with Paypal.

Just send him an MS65 1909-S VDB and call it even. :goofer:

I don't see how eBay could rule in his favor. There's always one bad apple in the bushel, I guess.

My auction stated " 5000 Common wheats " AND " no returns on bags, rolls or bullion"

Ebay will not have to rule in his favor, I did. The customer paid too much for a comon bag, and rather than stick him, I accepted the return and refund is pending upon my receipt.

Making a quick extra $50 is not my style. Happy customers are my style, and I have 100% FB to show it. I did however explain to them to read the auction and ask questions in the future.

I have since resold the bag at a fair profit, it is no biggie to me, I just thought it was a funny Ebay thingy I could post.

    Thanks gang.
