I recently studied the 1974 Lincoln cents. Besides the large and small dates, the hair style on Lincoln's head presents another variation. In my Lincoln album, I show 8 types of 1974 cents. Including the blob S mintmark, the tall S mintmark, and the "wildhair" sample. None are rare. But the combination of the "wildhair" with the large date '74 D is hardest to find. If anyone is interested, I can provide images and data. Easiest way to note the large date is the distance from the edge of coin, and the "triangle" within the 4 numeral is an isosceles triangle.

I am interested. I suggest you begin a new thread and post the varieties, perhaps by rolling them out collectively and then introduce each separately for discussion.
