Nice pickup! I too got a little itch after Thanksgiving feasting. Now for the wait for the goodies to arrive.

Numerical Seal Benjamin. Another nice & unique thing to these 1928's are the "Redeemable in Gold" clause.

Not a gold certificate but redeemable in gold. No gold seal, either.

That's very very interesting. I always thought that only gold certs were redeemable in gold.

It's nice, but I don't see anything SUPER special, unless I'm missing something

The majority of 1988A $1 F-N block notes were printed in Washington DC with just a handful printed in Fort Worth. A tougher note to find.

Military Payment Certificates: I blame MPCUSA for getting me interested in these, what's his address, I am gonna send him the bill.:D

Seriously, I don't know that much about these 2 that I picked up recently. They're both decent quality but for very low face values ($1 and $0.25 !!) . Reasonably-priced, I wasn't going to go nuts on something I just picked up knowledge about here on CT very recently. Separate series numbers. Maybe MPC can tell us when these came out and where they were used.

Anyway, hopefully they're decent conversation pieces, didn't cost me a ton of money so if I made a mistake it won't break me.

They are also smaller than I thought from the pics....and I also was attracted to their vibrant colors.

Might get one with some army or soldier pics on them the next time.:D

Nice pick ups :) and of course i can give you all the info on them as well
One of the really cool things about MPC is the color and art work that was
Used, thats what got me interested, another great aspect is you dont have
To be a million air to build a high quality set, Series 641,661 and 681 are
For the most part affordable collecting MPC for over 20 Years now, i have
Some the finest known examples, which i am always eager to share.

If you want to dive in to MPC and take the plunge like i did, you will need
Some study books, here,s a couple that i have that are packed full of
    Knowledge on military payment.

The last guide was actually giving to me by the late Rickie B, he was
A fixture on this site for several years and was very knowledgeable
on just about everything related to money, RIP my friend.

Wow...thanks MPC.....I got some Vietnam-era stuff, pretty cool. I couldn't tell if they were issued in the last few years or whatnot.

How far does grade quality go down if you go back further to Korea and WW II ? What about WW I ?

I presume it's easy to find 68 and 69 stuff from the last few decades.

All else equal, I presume larger denominations cost more ?

Did some Black Friday shopping and the notes are slowly starting to roll in. One’s out for delivery today so I’m patiently waiting for it and a pair of 1914 $20 FRNs are en route.
