I felt this box deserved its own thread :) Never in my years of collecting have I found anything like it...and MWR to boot! Multiple rolls had 20+ wheaties. Most of them were 40's and 50's but who cares? It was a blast to go through. The oldest was 1919 and there were even two steelies mixed in with them all.

It's cool that you found so many in one box. It's my guess that someone dumped them in a Coin Star and the collection company just recycled them without bothering to check the contents of the bag.

My only concern is that you will end up posting one thousand threads on pennies. Please say that you won't! Please?

Don’t worry Chris, this was a one off. Was still riding the high this morning and had to post :)

Unfortunately, no. Most were 40s and 50s. The lowest minted coin was a 1920S with like 46mil mintage. Also managed to pull out a 2000P WAM. Beyond that, it was a pretty boring box haha.

Stunning! That, I know is a good feeling for you! And a good feeling for us know that they are going to someone who appreciates them and will give them a good home! icon_smile_thumbsup.gif

What a great find! The last time I remember something like that I was still in single digits and I really didn't care. It would be great to go through a box like that. I'm sure you really had fun.

Epic, I'm impressed that 2 steel cents wormed its way in. Most coinstars and coin collectors at banks have magnetic devices that separate non-US coins, junk stuff and other items from our currency, due to the fact that no modern US coin is magnetic.

Amazing find for sure. Is this the highest box of wheaties found ?

By far. I think my highest total before this was something around 80. I will have to check my records.

I'm glad you shared that with us! I have never had this much luck in one box. I found about 2 rolls in a row that were almost entirely wheats. I know the excitement. I'm glad you found this many in a box!

    None at all. :p
To be fair, I have had my fair share of skunks. All about volume though. The more you do, the higher likelihood to get something good.
