I was poking around in a shoe box looking for a pack of 2x2's that has been misplaced and found this. I sure missed it when they took it off the market. It was almost a necessity for copper collectors. Does anyone know if they make a suitable replacement?
I don't recognize it, because I likely wasn't around for that, but I know of @BadThad 's verdicare, which might now do what that did, if it is what I think it was, and did what I think it should do. And now I think I've confused myself...
That's unlikely I wouldn't have misplaced it and it wouldn't still be half full "Blue Ribbon Coin Preserver and Protector." It was taken off the market for a fluorocarbon that is deemed bad for the environment. It sold for around $8.50 for a 8 oz. bottle. I recently saw a bottle on eBay go for over $200
These weren't listed a week https://www.ebay.com/itm/Origina-l-...=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Got plenty of bourbon but tonight I’m hanging out with Tito. I do love my vodka. As to the coin preserver I never heard of it
MS-70 had those that liked it and thought that shiny cents were better than original cents. Things seem to have changed since the 60s, when these were readily available, but they emphasized clean and shiny rather than original and natural toning. Silver dollars and minor coinage were treated badly with strong acid dips, and Five cent pieces with the various nica-coin solutions. I think most people who were greatest fans of MS-70 were unfamiliar with modern chemistry and had memories of mom and grandmom spending a lot of time shining up the silver. They used cyanide solutions then also, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.Jim
It’s very decent. And gluten free. I made from corn. I tend to stay with corn or potato vodka not distilled from grain. A couple good cheaper potato vodkas are Vesica around $18-22 a bottle and Lusukowa a polish potato vodka that’s really good around $22-26 a bottle. They have big Tito’s for sale at the NH liquor store for $27.99 so I loaded up. It’s to me almost as good as goose at half the money. As I add a little cranberry for flavor I don’t notice the difference
Heh...I saved a bottle of that stuff for decades. I eventually threw it out a couple years back when downsizing. Thought it was snake oil as I never did see much of a difference before/after. It must have got popular afterwards...figures...
