....but it surely doesn't meet the normal standard for "mechanical" doubling. With doubled clear serifs on the "3", it looks more like a weak 1st hub, to me. The "s" has to be a rpm also? (But it is very "messy")
I know. Pics are "fuzzy" but that way you get to see the doubling better. When "in focus" the doubling is not focused on. I also know that some can't be informative if the entire coin isn't shown. Lets focus on the date for starters. .
I know this explanation will go mostly through one ear and out the other...

There is no 1935 Doubled die LMC. You are not going to find the 1st one 85 years later. Sorry.

Could have been WRPM-003 but too much circulation wear and out of focus pics to tell

What, exactly, is the normal standard for mechanical doubling? Please enlighten us.

Looks like the bottom of the 3 got "hit" in a northern direction about halfway up the thickness of the device and sliiiiiiid that bottom part of the 3 upwards. Looks like a lucky hit. Soft and chewy copper! The part of the bottom of the "3" thats the highest point is nearly flat across....the metal underneath is the part of the 3 that was not hit and thats why its still there in the original spot.

Actually, you might even see this on all the numbers and the mint mark...like hit and rubbed shifting the bottom of all those devices north. The bottom of the "s" kind of looks smashed and closed up a bit too with the top of the s being less effected.

I would have to respectfully disagree on this Amos. There are new listings coming to light on a regular basis. Error and variety collecting has been around a long time but is still a niche group. Collections are handed down and put away until someone new with an interest decides to take another look. Lincoln cents are a good example of a coin that gets short shrift and goes into cans and bottles until someone turns them in, possibly many decades after they were salted away. No one knew about the 1943 copper cent salted away by the collector in Pittsfield, Ma. until just recently. He knew it was something special but never told anyone about it until he was on his death bed. We need to keep an open mind.

That was not a new discovery however. Those were known coins that resurfaced.

:jimlad: :mask: (couldnt find the popcorn guy, this pirate and Jason mask will have to suffice)

I have no skin in this one but I love coin drama!

Looking at the coin...its a dumpster diver. Is there a legit DD under that PMD? I have no opinion. I hope it is for the sake of coin collecting and the OP! Its awesome to see people find great stuff here.

    This!

    LOL!

But so do alot of us....including me. When I first started, in my first roll from Publix, I had 49 "double dyes" with a value of about $400,000. Then I met Paddy and Chris LOL!....then ask my boss for my job back while apologizing for telling him I was rich and he could eat a bag of

Btw, I lost money on that roll after the 9% coinstar fee...ended up a 45 cent value.

coinstar is great if you opt for a gift card. They take no fee then.
