Hello All. I call myself a collector of coins but started keeping all my starnotes and looking for webs and such so getting into paper money more and more. I came across this 1934A $10 Hawaii Note. I have no clue on what a fair price is and I do not want to overpay or be unfair to who I'm purchasing from. I have seen them from $30-150 and up. I do not know the first thing about them but thought it looked cool and would be nice to add to collection.
Is there any value there and what would be a reasonable price to offer for it ?
Or if it's not worth buying that would be good info to have as well. Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
Here are a few photos of what she sent. I do see folds in it but for the most part it seems to be in great condition for its age. received_436161163972520.jpeg received_967974593587497.jpeg

I would place my value on the lower end as the bill has multiple folds. Both sides display stains and discoloration. In fact, I'd pass on this bill and look for another.

Should I message these users to ask them or will they see thread since you tagged them on it? Also , did I post in proper place or should I have posted in Paper Money ? I know they dont like you talking, what's this worth in random threads so I posted here to be safe.

Except for the folds, it seems very crisp and clean.
    $45-$75 circulated.

Okay. Thank you very much for the help. I wasn't looking for anything specific. I just happened to come across it on FB marketplace so I thought I would check it out. She told me she wanted 75 for it. The ol' "they are on eBay for $500" people are famous for. I knew 75 what high when I saw the folds and others on eBay graded that sold around $70 in high grades. I guess I will pass on this one. Thanks again for the chime.

I think she just wants to get rid of it. I think I could get it for $30 or less if I really wanted it.

You're welcome. The folds are bad enough but the staining does it for me.

While I have you all on here. I have a few other notes I have some questions about. I don't want to start a thread for each one but I will at least start a new one for the lot of the 3. I get starnotes back throughout the week pretty often but usually mid 2000's-2013 but this last few weeks I've got a 1969, and a 1963 star and no reference on my site earlier than the 80s or 90s. Also picked up a 1988A. Wasnt a web unfortunately but still curious if worth holding on to. I will get them together and post a few photos on new thread shortly if anyone wants to see what they think of them or if they are just average finds.

I like it for less than $50.
As for the other notes, you'll have to post photos because there's such a wide
    window for condition.

I was hoping they might see it and chime in. They were the first to come to mind and I was not trying to exclude anyone else, just cannot remember everyone who's into notes.

That’s a pretty note. It looks to have original paper qualities and appears fairly crisp. There are some flaws, including folds and below average centering but overall a borderline VF-XF note. Get it into a currency sleeve and put it under a book for a day. As is, $40-$60, if it was in a graded holder and graded 35EPQ it would sell for more.

You have some pretty significant folds working through out the note
There so your value would be based on that, so based on that you would
be near the lower end of the scale.

"For sale on Ebay at $500" does NOT mean it SOLD for $500 on Ebay.

Gotta look at completed sales...and pretty RECENT...and double-check on another site like HA.

How hard is it to find one of these notes in Gem Condition (65 or higher) AND also a low serial number ?

I see serial numbers in double-digits but they are usually PMG55 or lower, sometimes as low as 30. See high-quality notes but if you have 2 or 3 zeros to start the SN, that's usually it.

Is PMG 65 and a serial number < 2,000 (4 zeros) something that stands out ? Got a lead on one and may want to move on it if the price is right AND that's enough of a combination of condition rarity and SN.

I would check PMG,S data base its free and available to everyone. and you can tell
How rare it really is, and how many that are higher then 65,to bad you cant do that
With PCGS as they are now defunked, but atleast you will be in that ball park with
    PMG.

You can find the grades but no way to check SN's. Have to guestimate I guess.

    https://www.pmgnotes.com/population-report/united-states/world-war-ii-emergency-issues/1/

It looks like a rare block and high quality costs a few thousand dollars....low SN isn't as much a factor, but still will double or triple the price.
