Hello, i have a question about the advertisement section : i have two coins i want to trade and about 400 people have looked at them. how do i know if someone wants to trade, it seems nobody can comment. any help would be appreciated! Thomas,
Interested people will start a conversation with you (PM). This is the only way to respond to any B/S/T post. To private message (PM) a member, simply click on their avatar, and choose the "start a conversation" option.
Hi @Thomas c , whenever you gain an answer to a question like this, it could be helpful to changed the title to something like "[SOLVED] trades????" so other members know that you got the answer you are looking for, however this is not required.
Another way is to choose "best answer" option below the post. A very underutilized option in my opinion.
Gotcha. Why was it disabled ? The folks on the ancients forum are so nice, and respectful. Was the best answer being used too often, perhaps losing its luster ? (pun intended)
Pretty much the long and short of it, I believe. Misunderstanding of it's purpose led to misuse (often there are no hard-and-fast answers to the questions posed ) and overuse (or simple accidental use), which began to distract from the productive and ongoing conversations taking place here. The example of this thread is one where that functionality would've been appropriate, but they are far and few in between.
For a comprehensive list of reasons why the Best Answer button isn't used much see this thread: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/what-are-best-answers.316934/#post-3091178
Thank you @TIF , good thread (link), and links to other good threads to boot. I'm still a bit confused though. LOL. Better to be confused, than refused I guess. Edit: looks like I did get my first BA.
I have one BA from my 16,253 messages. I know I am shallow but..... Of my post/answers, that one is one of the most flippant I have posted. Its a bit like entering three things in a contest and winning 'Best in Show' with the one you considered worst.
