I've been curious... how many collectible coins does coin talk collect, collectively? (say that 5 times fast!)

    So here is a challenge...
Count how many collectible coins you own, collectible coins being any coin medal, token paper money or anything numismatic related that has a form of desirability.

    Here are the official steps
    1. If you would like to enter into the drawing, please state "Entry Post" You may participate and submit numbers if you would like, without entering if wish to do so. One entry post per member but you may reply and chat as much as you like, have fun!
    2. Count how many coins you have in your collection, or give us a shot in the dark if you have too many, the more precise, the better
    3. Post your number of coins in a reply on this thread
    4. tag a person who hasn't posted in the thread already in the same post, (this is to encourage more number submissions) (If you accidentally do tag a person who already posted, no big deal)
    5. Post a coin, a bunch of coins, or a picture of your entire collection.
    6. Optional- guess how many coins we can count up

Every evening I will tally up the number of coins we currently have posted. IE Post 1- 30 coins
    Post 2- 80 coins
    Total 110 coins so far

If we break 2,500 coins in 1 week, I will give away a 2019 American Silver Eagle or if I'm impressed with the participation, I'll give it away regardless of how many coins.

    Goodluck!

This Contest will close on November 28th AKA Thanksgiving at 11:59pm.
I will be using Random Number Generator to randomly select one post in which someone completed the required prerequisites, and has stated "Entry Post"

Ooo buddy, I think you should up that 2,500. There are several people here with that number just in reserve lol :) Cool idea though.

OK.... I counted what is in my desk and cabinets at work. I have 447 coins in my office. Five are completed Dansco's of various denominations. It may take me till the end of this contest to count what I have at home.

Just in rolls and bags of Westward Journey nickels, I have 18,000 coins. You can add another 1,000 or so in medals. I would guess that my collection totals about 20,000 coins and medals.

Well, if you count just the coins that I consider part of my "collection" it is 4445. I have collection software that added it up for me. This includes coins, tokens, medals, and paper.

I am a part-time dealer at a monthly local coin show. The above number doesn't include any of the coins that I put out to sell. That would probably double the number. So just for fun, I will say 8890.

I don't really have a pile of coins picture but this one will do.

Entry Post. As a matter of coincidence, I just finished doing a coin by coin count of my World Coin collection less than a week ago. The grand total of those is 13,544. Those coins take up almost an entire large gun safe space. In addition, my US coin collection (which I have not counted) takes up 2 large gun safes space, so that number can easily be doubled, for a guesstimate of 27,000 coins. Dominica Zoom.jpg

I've got way too many coins to count in my collection but if I was to give a guesstimate I would say I have around 30,000 coins in my collection which most of them came from my coin roll hunting days. Since I am now in focus on ancient coins I will post a pic of my favorite ancient. Athens owl Tetradrachm. 837DBDCE-B517-4C3F-AE31-F22D9CED0BB0.jpeg 1C75492F-14F1-4C5A-828A-9C2323F3A991.jpeg

The majority of my 'collection' is silver bullion and circulated 90% silver coins (it's not junk :cigar:) awaiting $20 spot for partial downsizing. I'll keep the count classified .
Including mixed Morgan/Peace dollars, IH cents, V & buffalo nickels, Barber coins, miscellaneous US Mint collector issues, 'rare' .999 silver art bars, a few gold coins (Maple Leafs and US & British pre-1933 eagles/sovereigns) and a handful of foreign silver, I'd estimate my 'collectible collection' at 300.

It would take me too long to do that count and I'm too old to spend that much time on doing it. Just a quick guesstimate I'd say around 10,000 plus my foreign coins.
