15,000!!! So why is always the same 20 or so people posting? Maybe all those others are just really, really lazy.

It's more like shy than lazy. Most lurkers tend to read and try to learn. Some of them may have had bad experiences on other forums because when they post a question they are made to feel embarrassed or self conscious, sometimes even humiliated by other member's responses. And if that happens to them once they don't want it to happen again. So rather than post, they just stay in the background.

Over a period of time they may come to realize that here at Coin Talk we do not act that way. The members here go out of their way to try and make everyone feel welcome and treat everyone with repsect regardless of that person's level of knowledge.

And then there are many people who do not post because they simply have nothing to add to a discussion or any questions to ask. I know for me personally there are many, many times that I do not respond in a thread because all the questions have been answered and there is simply nothing else to say that needs repeated.

All of that said, I always encourage everyone to participate. You never know what your comments might make others think of, and what they think of might be very important to the discussion. And you might think of something that no one else has thought of yet.
