Has anyone received one of the 100 hand signed COAs ?

So far, all I've received is my tracking number from the mint and saying "your product has shipped!". Still, the FedEx site says the deliver date is Pending because they have yet to receive the package.

My coin is due to arrive tomorrow and since I plan on putting into my Dansco album
I'll know if I have the "Golden Ticket"

 

I'm curious of what premium they'll bring in the beginning.

There will be 100 signed CoA's mixed in with the 29,500 coins released via mail.

There are potentially 500 additional signed CoA's from the Baltimore show. I'm not sure how many David Ryder actually signed though.

Either way, I bought a coin for my collection. The signature is another Rick Harrison marketing ploy.

 

I received that notification two days ago and received the same message. Tracked it today and the F'ers still say it's pending. Usually, by now the package is in FDX's hands (from past experience). I'm getting a little nervous.......

 

Yup my last update was Monday at 3:19am

 

I received my shipped message Sunday. It finally moved from Southhaven, MS at 3:19am Monday.

Expected SmartPost delivery is this Saturday.

 

Mine says it will arrive tomorrow. I'll let you know if I get the signed coa.

 

Finally got an update this morning. Has departed Mississippi (even though the shipment says from Memphis, TN) and should arrive here NLT Monday.

If this is the case, then should you receive a signed COA, you would be willing to trade for a unsigned one ? btw, this is a thread specifically about the COAs. There are a myriad of other threads about the coin itself.
Anyone can pay to put their name on a label. Not just anyone could've signed these COAs.
I really couldn't care less about the signature myself though, only curious of the resulting premium they may bring, and I imagine the lower the number, the more the premium.

Edit; The ones signed at the show are a mix of random numbers. The 100 signed are numbered 1-100. No need to separate them out.

 

Wow! Is this the future or our hobby? We focus on a certificate with a number and a signature and forget about the coin? And regarding NGC and PCGS....since when did opening a box from the mint or not, determine if the coin should be graded or not? This hobby is becoming very tainted by those who are in it for a buck. Meher Baba dictated that "Greed is a state of restlessness of the heart, and it consists mainly of craving for power and possessions. Possessions and power are sought for the fulfillment of desires. Man is only partially satisfied in his attempt to have the fulfillment of his desires, and this partial satisfaction fans and increases the flame of craving instead of extinguishing it. Thus greed always finds an endless field of conquest and leaves the man endlessly dissatisfied.

 

Like I always say....Buy the COA in a slab. NOT the coin...
PS - I never say this. I hate slabs and all that they represent.

 

Profit is the driving force for these,(as all businesses) and the poor collectors that missed out on the initial release will have to pay more, or hope the prices drop to add one to their collection. I don't like that fact, but that's the way it is.
People want the low minted, high demand coins so it's supply -vs- demand, which anyone has the ability to make 10-20 times (or more) their investment with no need to be an experienced numismatist.
This is hardly the first, (or last) time this has happened.
The COA is just icing on the cake. Some, (not everyone) will want the numbered ones due to perceived rarity among other reasons. I'm guessing they will be willing to pay up for them. After all, (usually) the most coveted coins in a collection are the rarest/high demand coin.
Bottom line is, if you had a choice to have a signed one, or one unsigned, wouldn't you want the signed one more ? Especially if they command hither prices/values ?
Registry sets, label collectors, etc... Will eat this up, regardless of what some may think about it. All hype, perhaps, but that's the state of the coin market currently.

PS: just wait for fake COAs to become an issue.

Thank you Johndoe2000$. Yes I have read them. But it seems the coin is valuing around $1000 last week and the piece of signed COA is $2950? The earlier post has an EBAY sold coin at $3950 and it was tagged as number 07049. I just don't get why a piece of paper should be of greater value than the coin. Does this make sense to you? I doubt it. You said it earlier, profit potential is the driving force (I call it greed). Lol.

 

I didn't get one & I didn't try
