This is in a PCGS slab. The plastic has many scratches that I've tried to repair, but I'm thinking about reholdering (assume I must first join the PCGS club). While I love the coin, the little circular carbon spot in front of liberty's face is a bit distracting. What do you think of a NCS/NGC submit instead to fix? Anyway, indulge me and guess the grade (I have posted the coin a few monthes ago so don't cheat :mouth along with any advice you have!
Leave it exactly as it is and send it to me. That would solve all your problems-no more distracting spots. I would say this coin is XF45. What did I guess last time? I sure I gave a grade.
I'm thinking upper VF. I particularly like the surfaces. Looks like they started with a nice planchet. I'll know better when I get my 1798 back from NGC (assuming they don't body bag it.) It should be about the same grade although I don't remember the surfaces being that nice.
Distracting carbon spot? I wish I had a coin like this even with 10 distracting carbon spots. Nice coin!!!!
i got a job for you that will keep you from getting bored. think of reasons you can come up with to give me the coin
p.s. if you get some plastic polish (PlastiX) you can generally buff out the scratches in a slab -- or at least make them less evident. Takes some elbow grease though.
