Okay, now I know you're messing with us. Where's the link ?
Drama threads can be interesting/entertaining sometimes. Especially when I'm not involved. ;)

Sorry I was Mistaken it was the "Mod Team"

Still a great mystery though of who the "Mod Team" is *shrugs*. Still one of the great hysterical moments to me. Even funnier considering some of the posts in this thread. Oh well laughing is my favorite

Are you referring to a post in the "growing list" thread that alleges that Roger came back from a suspension and posted a rant and that that was what got him banned?

I asked him about the allegation, and he says it never happened. Does anybody have a screencap of said allegation?

He does tend to rub people's fur the wrong way. Is it possible that somebody with a grudge against him hacked or spoofed his account and posted something that got his suspension changed to a banning?

I didn't see the very end that got him banned, but others have brought up misattributions and even in the Seated thread about the might be polished coin no one was banned and Brett asked to be able to review the coin.

If i had to guess I would think that it was something that had been building over time as many of the more recently banned members weren't exactly strangers to some very contentious views against PCGS.

That said it's always a possibility for an account to get hacked. Whatever it was I would imagine it was probably something pretty blatant given that they knew they were going to hear from people about that one like the last time

I am informed by a reliable source that there was no such "rant" posted by Roger after his 30-day suspension was imposed in mid-August, either before or after the suspension was changed to a permanent banning in mid-September. The same source says that there is no indication that Roger's account was ever hacked.

So, the alleged "rant" referred to in the now-closed thread never happened.

PCGS blocked me and probably many others with a password change this weekend. When I asked for an email to reset my password, I could never get a response. If that is the end of my participation there, so be it. I never did anything and had no warning.

Same here, John. They apparently have software problems. Don’t think it’s anything personal.

They didn't block anyone. Their provider reset all the passwords as a precaution. You guys really need to start actually looking into things before saying absurd stuff. There's literally a sticky at the top of the forum about the issue

You suppose you could be a bit more obnoxious if you put full effort into it?

It'd take to much effort in order to be as obnoxious as when people can't be bothered to take a minute to find out the actual answer

If they really only wanted the passwords to be changed, why did they block the email mechanism to change them? You can’t change you password because there is no way to do it without an response from PCGS. This policy change was clumsy to say the least.

It ruined my usual banter with other football fans this weekend, which does not add any dollars to the “PCGS goodwill account.”

If you want the passwords changed, the least you could do would be to leave up the normal software that is required to do it. You don’t make friends by leaving you customers high and dry.

So you would rather their provider just ignore an issue and let all the passwords be stolen in time?

But if you want to keep being critical of PCGS because their forum provider decided to actually be proactive about a security threat go right ahead.

So what if they get a password to a coin discussion forum? You would be a fool to have your password to such a site even remotely resemble any of your passwords linked to your financial websites.

Any provider has a responsibility to protect passwords and data.

I won't even get into the whole thing about leaving vulnerabilities unchecked for hackers.

It's crazy to imply that the company should just say who cares it's only a coin forum which doesn't even address that that isn't their only client.

I agree that they need to protect their asserts. What is crazy is your wild exagerations calling poster's very reasonable ideas crazy. I have never had a site change my password. I. Have had plenty of sites require me to change my password the next time I logged in. But to wholesale lock people out without a way to access the site? Now we are talking crazy.

No. All I ask is that if you post up a link to change the password, you should provide that service to your customers, or announce that the passwords cannot be changed until the following week. Saying that you will send an email and then not following through is not a good policy.

I'm having the same problem. It's probably caused by us having an old eMail address in our accounts.

Heather Boyd posted last night to say she'll work on the problem this week but didn't post an eMail address.

Since they can't contact us it might be a short while until everyone is back.
