Working at the bank has been an awesome experience for me as a collector. I'm going to be sorry to see the job go in a couple months.

Anyway, here are 2 halves that I found today. One is a 1954-D Franklin and the other a 40% 1968-D Kennedy. Not a bad pickup for $1.

Also, I can now search through half dollar rolls. We don't order rolled halves, but we have the ability to. I asked my vault teller to order $500 worth for me and she did. Even better, they know why I'm doing it and don't care if I bring all my leftovers back and run them through the coin machine and redeposit them!!!

I have been trying to get my wife to find a job at a bank, just for this reason. Unfortuantely, she hates touching money.... Just loves spending it! LOL!

Didnt you ever notice anything unusual about certain notes?

I'm starting dental school in August. I have to move to a city 100 miles away (Portland, OR) and even if I could get transfered up there (which I probably could), I will have no time to work. Dental school is as difficult and involved as medical school and will require my full attention for the next 4 years.

But, I will miss the bank (and my coworkers)...its one of the best jobs I've ever had for a couple reasons.

Congratulations. You are right, the school will demand your full attention.
I went to CNA [certified nursing assistant] and LPN [licensed practical nurse school]. Very difficult to work even part time.
Don't forget the malpractice insurance. And save the gold you extract! LOL

Thanks! I plan on studying a lot...but don't worry. I'll still find time to be on CT.

OK, so I went through the $500 worth of rolled halves and I think it turned out well. My main reason for going through them was to 1. look for silver, and 2. fill holes in my Dansco. I was also looking for varieties (DD's, die cracks, ect).

Well, I didn't find any interesting varieties (I was mainly looking for a 1974-D DDO...but others as well), but I did manage to fill quite a few empty holes and found some silver. Didn't find anything unusual like circulation proofs though.

Here's the silver that I found:
    1963-D Franklin Half
    1966 Kennedy Half
    2 1967 Kennedy Halves
    3 1968-D Kennedy Halves

Not to bad if you ask me. I guess I'll pick up another bag. :kewl:
