So far I have won 6 coins on ebay. So far I have gotten 3 in the mail So far.....2 of the 3 have been taped to the envelope. If you are going to sell coins, shouldnt you at least learn how to pack them....How are these guys selling all these coins?...people have to be drunk to be okay with this. stainless
I have no idea who you are buying from, but I have probably won over 1000 on eBay. I have never had a raw coin taped to anything. A couple time I have had a flip taped to something (envelope included), but that is all.
ughh.. If my ancient comes taped to an envelope.. Im going to be severley upset.. and Negatives will be flying out of my butt left right and center
You got to understand that some people that are selling on ebay don't really know what is the best way to pack coins. Most I believe understand well enough that if coins are packed in such a way that it rattles, it would lead to suspicion of what the contents are, and hence tape the coins. That said, not all is lost if you have acetone. It might be recommended that if you see a seller and buy coins from him that normally he rarely offer coins for sale from time to time, specify how you want the packaging to be and explicitly telling him that taping the coins is not a good idea. You might be doing future buyers and the seller a favor too.
guys i ve had a Bank note taped to a harder piece of paper... i did leave negative feedback because of his empty HEAD.
I haven't had that, but I have had the paper money holders completely taped around. I use post it notes that stick to the holder, but come off easily, and then apply tape betwixt those and the cardboard.
Now that's a visual that is now forever burnt in my brain, but would be interesting to see! LOL! :mouth: Remember Jim Carrey in the mask.... when that street guy says "when monkeys come out my butt" - yep, thats the visual.
I've had it happen before. I just politely return the coins with an explanation of how the tape harms the coins.
When you go to the payment screen on Ebay there is always a box you can use to insert instructions or comments to the seller that is sent with payment details when you pay. I always use this area to specify how I want my items shipped, which is in 2x2's between cardboard, as today's electronic mail sorters are anything but gentle. Every time I've had my instructions followed. It takes an extra 10 seconds, and is well worth the effort. Guy~
