So I've been watching and waiting and it seems that our Secret Saturnalia tradition is in danger of flaming out... well not on my watch!

So let's do this thing. I will bite the bullet and step aside from participating this year so I can do all the organizational mumbo jumbo :D

Some Rules and Guidelines and Instructions and Such (That Curtisimo sure is a buzzkillington)
    • Send me a private message with your name and address
    • After a number of people have sent PMs I will begin pairing up and I will respond to your message with the name and address of the person you will be sending a gift to.
    • The pairings will be random and anonymous.
    • The cutoff date for entry will be Dec. 3, 2019.
    • Saturnalia officially starts on Dec. 17 so try to get your gift out in a timely manner. Understanding that we are starting a bit late this year I would say at least attempt to get it to the person by Christmas... or face the wrath of Krampus!
    • If you are willing to ship internationally please let me know in your PM.
    • Please restrict yourself to gifting ancient and medieval coins. The US forum usually has a SS of their own if you are interested in that.
As with previous years there is no limit or guidance on what to buy or how much to spend with the exception of the restriction that the coin be ancient or medieval. At the end you can choose to reveal yourself to your recipient or remain anonymous... up to you folks.

So what do y'all say? Are you up for some Herculean level merriment this year?

Thanks for stepping up to the plate @Curtisimo . Very recently I myself noticed it was already a bit past the time @John Anthony would normally post the thread so naturally I wondered if we were getting one this year.

Thanks for the kind words all.

Also, as a note to our friends outside North America we have already had several members offer to ship international so don’t let your location be an impediment to you joining in the fun of the holiday season.

Remember guys, let's keep the gifts a surprise and let your Secret Santa try to figure out on their own what it is you may like. So don't go dropping no hints. For example, as much as I want to do so, I won't mention my love of Roman Republic and Alexandrian provincial Tet coins, and I'll also keep quiet about my love of tiny Greek silver coins (my favorite collecting area) , and Sicilian Greek coins, as well as my need of a Valerian II antoninianus. Nope, I definitely will make sure to keep all of that to myself. So let me set the example by stating that I won't be telling anyone what it is that I want.

"The pairings will be random and anonymous"... that's what I like to hear - as it should be - will be fun!

Sure I'm in, as every year.
Shipping internationally isn't an issue for me as long as i'm the only one here shipping from France (oops, maybe I revealed myself a bit too much :) )

And I've bought a few items along the year fitting the bill

    I'm ready !!

I'm not entirely sure I'll participate, I don't much substantial ancient collection in the sense they are all cheap, common LRBs that no one wants. I'll see what I can do!

Thanks for taking this up Curtis - I've always been happy to do it in years past, but lately I've been swamped with work and family. I'll get a chance to participate this time around! :)

Happy to do it John. I’m also glad that you will be able to participate this year! Well deserved after many years of organizing the event so others could have fun :)
