Don't make my mistake and toss one back in only to find out days later it was a Henning. Ignorance is bliss :)

LOL @Cheech9712 ....I found the blue and purple ones online pretty cheap for what they are. I have since obtained 4 more. Got a new appreciation for nickels since watching this thread. They are fun to search because finding nice older coins is easier. Love it when I find a buffalo or war nickel. Have not found a V Nickel yet though. Maybe next box.

Ill get to 44,000.. Trust me :) wont be from this hunt alone. But I want to be known in the coin community as the man with 0.01% of the total population for 2009D nickels!

Anytime you can get a buffalo dateless or not thats a ok box. I hear stories of people having to go 10+ boxes just to find 1! The area has a ton to do with it. I have seen some box breaks on here and people are finding stampedes of Buffalos and silver in a single box! I can say proud as a man I get a little jealous :)

It’s great that you’ve kinda made it a community forum for nickels even though we are all watching you. I get to do about a box of nickels and cents each month when I get my disability check and kind of drag out the searching. Just happened to finish the last three rolls of my previous one last night and about the only thing I found of note was a hole filler 1950 although I have some set aside to check for doubled dies when I run out of fresh coins.

Oh yeah, your top 14 list is great. Gives me more coins to save for another day. Keep it up

Bear digger. Those toners are gorgeous. A little jealous of those. I save any coin that catches my eye if for no other reason that I can always turn it loose at a later date

Through the first four rolls of a new box isn’t promising. No pre 60’s at all. I normally get 1 every roll or two. I did get these. My first Irish coin and a damaged coin that I like

Yeah it depends on were you live with your boxes I live in rural Louisiana and I find a lot of Buffalos in circulation still people getting them out there coin jars. But when I hunt boxes my best was 6 buffalos in a box. My average finds a box will mostly be 2 buffalos and a war nickel. Sometimes they still have dates.

Very happy with this box! The first silver looks like someone cleaned the crap out of it and dipped it into some cleaner. Got a very nice UK coin I really like the shape. A coupon token now is it me or does the "5" have a similar look to the shield nickels "5". Just a thought. A absolutely stunner 56 BU.

    2-Silvers 1943P and a 1944D
2-Foreign 2005 UK 20 Pence and a Tilt game token
    1-1953S
    2-1939 Philadelphia
    3-AU/BU 1956P,1958D, and a 1983P
    7-Common 40s
    10-Common 50s
    14-2009D (yeah I know crazy!)

    Top 14 DDO/DDRs

    #10

    1962P-DDR

This is a very nice one to find in all conditions. The splits as you can tell in the lettering is well defined caused by the doubling. The 64 and 63 I will check if the condition is at least XF but with the 62 Philadelphia I check all grades.

    What to look for

Unlike the 63 and 64 the 62 Philadelphia has strong doubling throughout the reverse. Some examples have been found with doubling on ALL LETTERS on the reverse and this even includes some doubling on the sides of the Monticello. Now I will say again there are different varieties of this error but if you happen to find a 1962 Philadelphia with strong doubling on ALL LETTERS on the reverse you have hit a very nice error!
