    BEAUTIFUL!!!! :hammer:

With regard to the NEW rules that sellers cannot leave a negative for their buyers, as I said before, nothing prevents them from leaving a negative comment with that positive.

Here's the 2 negative comments one buyer left...

Problem with missing items and items described as uncirculated.

Problem with missing items from order and description as uncirculated coins

Here is the sellers POSITIVE reply...

    BAD-UGLY-DECEITFULL-NEGATIVE-NEUTRAL-POOR-LOST-FOUL-SPOILED-THIS GIRL DANGEROUS!

I knew this would be the case especially with this seller as the seller loves to label their unhappy buyers by gender bashing = "GIRL".

    The bashing thread here.

I love how half of the sellers who leave these blackmailing feedbacks in retaliation seem to have little to no grasp on punctuation and/or the english language....:D

Ebay will remove those if they are notified, it is a rules violation on the part of the seller.

I was just thinking the same thing. Nothing says "I never made it past the 5th grade" like an incoherent sentence fragment.

Well there's still a reasonable system in place for such a thing. About the only justified reason I can think of for a seller to give a buyer a negative feedback is if they don't pay the agreed upon price, and the non-paying bidder process still works fine for that. A buyer gets enough of those he's likely to get NARU'D pretty quickly.

I never got the idea behind buyer feedback anyway... if I'm the one giving you money, why should I have to prove that I can be trusted? The buyer is risking his money against the hope that the seller is honest enough to give him what he paid for... the only thing the seller has at risk is his eBay fees (which are partially refundable if the bidder doesn't pay) and the opportunity cost if the item doesn't sell. If the bidder doesn't pay, don't send the item and open up a non-bidding complaint. (And block him from future auctions of yours.) If the buyer tries a chargeback after having received the item or some such, same thing; contest it, open an eBay complaint, block him, etc. All of that is more effective that negative feedback anyway, and if a buyer makes a habit of it he'll get NARU'd pretty quickly.

As it is now, buyer feedback is essentially meaningless. If you can't possibly leave a buyer neutral or negative feedback, positive feedback means nothing except as a count of completed transactions.

But there are many justifiable reasons why a seller should be able to leave negative feedback for a buyer. Some people think that buyers take all the risk because they are paying and have to hope the seller delivers. In reality, the seller takes most of the risk.

Buyers can do chargebacks on their credit cards. The credit card companies are almost always in favor of the buyer.

They can do a PayPal dispute saying the items wasn't as described. They can do this LONG after any return privilege has expired. PayPal loves to refund money to the buyer before the seller gets the item back - provided they actually do ever get the item back.

Bounced checks and money orders. Yes, both can bounce!

Then there is just the buyers who feel everything is owed to them in life. I had a buyer recently who contacted me after the auctions closed. He wanted to wait 6 weeks to pay for them.

I had another buyer try to return all 20+ coins they won because they were seeing spots on the (brand new) slabs. :headbang:

Other buyers who take weeks to pay, only respond after filing a NPB, complain about the S&H charges even though they are clearly listed in the auction, complain that the coin is smaller than they expected (no joke, I've had that complaint more than once), etc.

I both buy and sell on eBay and even as a buyer I feel the seller should be able to rate me. If I'm a slow payer and a crackpot, the seller should be able to warn others about me. The eBay feedback system was clearly broken, but rather than fix it, eBay just broke it worse.

A non paying bidder is about the only reason for a seller to leave a neg, but I have seen many times where a seller will leave a neg for the buyer as retaliation for a well deserved neg left for the seller.

I had to cancel two bids on an auction I had running a couple of weeks ago, when I looked at the bidders previous negatives for NPB issues. One of them had more than 12 NPBs in the last year, but he is continuing on eBay because he just manages to stay under their radar. If the previous sellers going back the previous 12 months had not been able to leave negatives, I would have nothing but the graces of feeBay to rely on to let me know that the buyer was an idiot. Besides the item I was selling was not a $4 item, but a bit more.

What bugs me are the sellers that send you "reminder" emails about leaving feedback, before they leave one for you.

I always use PayPal, and there are so many safety nets in place that I should get a positive the SECOND my payment is confirmed. Normally I'll leave a positive if I feel one is warranted, but if you come looking for one and I don't see one left for me first, forget it.

So many safety nets in place FOR THE BUYER and so many ways for the seller to get screwed. Sorry, but as a seller PayPal is not my friend. As a buyer, I love it.

Sorry Silver. I haven't been hit yet on my ebay account but I assume it coming....as much as I get frustrated with Ebay I still haven't found anyplace else that brings traffic to my listings for the price.

This one just happend to me so let me know what you guys think.

After the item has ended the "buyer" sends me a question on another item and says that his bid"s" were a mistake and that he is not going to pay for the item.

    Item number: 370061270843[IMG]
Look at all of his bids. Each bid was the day before the item ended. I think this would call for a negative feedback as to me it looks like he never had any intention of paying for the item when he was placing bids. If that is not a bad buyer I don't know what is.
