I'm sorry for the poor quality pictures.. but I'm pretty sure I have found some die chips on the leaves and also neck of the eagle. And a die crack going from the eagles head all the way the A in AMERICA. And also I'm not sure what kind of error is on Washington's eye but it's flat, almost like there was a whole piece of the die missing. But it's right between the bridge of his nose and his eyeball, almosy in the shape of a tear drop... again I am sorry for the poor quality photos but it's all I have to work with.. took me 35 mins to get these shots lol.. can anyone confirm these are true errors or am I just a beginner hoping to find something that's not there?
Yes to die crack on reverse. The flat spot next to the eye is design lost due to an over polished die.
The over polishing is done from the mint right? How common is that? .. I'm pretty excited about finding this because it is my first coin I have found that has more than one different kind of errors.. this has 4.. I think..
Over polished / excessive cleaning of the die is a common thing as is die cracks. Does not really add value to the coin. Worth saving as an example.
Thank you , I missed that lol... I'm not even sure what I look for when I look.. I just keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary.. I'm really wanting to find my 1st double die...
