Can't find one that matches on NGC site. I apologize for pics but seperation is not from a coin strike as pic gives appearance. But can't find variety to match it with unless it is MD. Thanks for your help.
I don't think it is an RPM. If it was, the overstrike would not curve upward at the bottom. It would go straight across. I think it is circulation damage. Chris
I don't see a match either so leaning towards a well placed hit on the mm. But I'd set that one aside for further review rather than stick it in the general population of War Nickels. At least until you are sure it is a hit.
Thanks everyone, well placed hit makes perfect sense. Unaware if Denver mint had a different design in 1945 but whatever anomaly is, it's not even close. I apologize for quality of pics because they are far from accurate in showing what loop does. I will put aside and categorize it as WTH?...lol
