no I don't think I get bored, But thats because I'm not SERIOUSLY fixed on one set, Right now I'm on Canadian Small and Large sets. Missing a few variety's from both series, and I'm trying to upgrade my small cents to MS. Then I'm doing Lincolns, and Morgans when I see a good deal... ( which is never)
If I find a good deal on something I know the price on Ill buy it, But I probably buy a coin or two every month. I'm very careful about spending money during regular months, because the antique show comes twice a year so I spend quite a bit when he comes.
maybe thats why I don't get bored, cause I only get coins every now and then so its super special when I do.

The one thing I can never get bored from is seeing how many times Spock can go from collecting, to retired, to disabled, to temporarily retired, to temporarily retired and disabled to ******, then back to collecting! :D;)

Glad to see your back Spock! I knew you couldn't stay away.

Back on topic: I very seldom get bored with collecting, because Lord knows that there are too many coins out there that I don't have. I have 20 different collections that I have worked on at some point, but I am only actively working on 7 sets as of know. Like Smaugy mentioned, its not so much that I get bored as it is that I get frustrated. Frustrated with the fact that I have wiped out my local coin shop of everything that I can afford and the ones that I need are too expensive. I have been burned too many times, so I usually don't like buying things off the internet so I am typically limited to my local coin shop and local coin shows. Thanks to some good members on CT, I have found a new way to continue my sets while feeling comfortable enough to buy sight unseen. Joe

Can't even imagine ever being bored due to retirement. I can't figure out where I ever found enough time before to do everything I now do. Of course the area you live is important. Around me we have a minimum of 3 coin shows a month and all within about 15 miles of me. A few very large annual and semi annual coin shows about 5 miles from me. Then of course there is the gun shows, knive shows, computer shows and car shows almost every week somewhere in the area. There are antique shows, flea markets, movie theaters, many museums, 2 large zoos, Great America and so many other things to do I could never imagine being bored. And enough shopping malls to drive you nuts just trying to figure out where you left your car. At one such large mall I actually got lost in the parking lot trying to get out. Then naturally I have several old cars that need my attention continuously.
I guess if you get bored with coins you could just take all yours and start cleaning them one at a time.;):goofer:
Maybe it's due to a medical problem that I just don't want to even think about the possibilities of boredom. A few years ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 Cancer. The one where they tell you to contact your next of kin. After 4 operations, 2 bouts of chemotherapy, I've learned to do as much as you can, while you can, regardless of what it may be. I'm still here and will make the best of every waking moment.
    Boredom? What is that?

    Bored?
With this forum to keep me awake?

Start posting to the general forum, that'll keep you busy.

    As far as collecting, yes.
I get bored when I can't upgrade any Barber dimes or quarters for months at a time.

So, (this is Ben's fault) I started, well, really continued, to collect Bust 1/2 dollars.

You'll never get bored with them, unless you can't find anything new.

    ummm boredom strikes occasionally
I love my walkers and peace dollars but not too long ago I randomly started a $2.5 and $5 Indian set that stopped just as randomly as it started. Now I am back to my peace dollars and walkers but am always looking at new sets to start.

Do I get bored? Heck yeah, I got like 3 different sets of Lincoln's going on, and when I get bored with one, I'll do a bit on the other, and then jump to another, etc. One of those sets I'll probably never complete, but it'll be quite the challenge. But, to answer your question, yes I get bored. It's good to have multiple interests, so your tastes don't go stale, lol. Or, so you don't get too bored. ;)

Coingirl , what size shows are you attending , anyway I know the feeling of leaving a shop or show , but it's usually from not enough money , Seems I can always find coins I'd like . At the last Central States show was looking at a nice Trade Dollar , I asked the lady if she could do it for $400 she looked at me & said honey that says $4600 not $460 , I didn't realy expect her to drop $60 but it was funny anyway

Don't know where you go for coin shows but most around me are so packed with what I'm looking for it's just a lack of money that stops me from buying out the place. With one of our coin shows that has close to 100 dealers each month, I always find coins I want, need, could use, etc.
I'm finished with set #10 Lincolns and well into set #11 so there is always something to buy.

the central states show was a nightmare for me i lost every coin that i wanted to buy some for as low as 50 bucks (for a coin worth 4000 that stinks) so i made my mind if i want to buy something then that show i dont attend in person :) but look on the bright side she called you honey instead of swearing at you.

    hey leave her alone

if her taste doesn't include certain coins, then she doesn't need them
her sets will only be good ones if they are built of coins she actually wants
