Æ (26mm, 17.59 g, 7h). Struck circa 230-218/5 BC. Diademed head left / Warrior, holding couched lance, on horse prancing right; ΣΩ below. CNS 195 R1 31; BAR issue 62; HGC 2, 1548. CIMMERIAN BOSPOROS, Pantikapaion. Circa 340-325 BC. Æ (26.5mm, 14.67 g, 8h). Wreathed head of Pan left / Bow and arrow. Anokhin 1022; MacDonald 59; HGC 7, 106. It was a really, really good day.

Thanks! I couldn't believe I didn't get blown out of the water on these. Particularly the last one, which I've seen go for A LOT more than what I paid ($220) in that condition.
Auctions can be a strange animal. In the Frankfurter Auction last week, a extremely rare AV Dukat 1746 from Swabisches Halle / Emperor Franz I, remained unsold at opening bid (3150 Euros). Mintage was a scant 550 ex. They estimate 5-7 exist today. I snapped it up for my coll. Its the finest known ex. Yesterday at the Rauch Auction a Dukat from Franz I/ Kremnitz Mint/ Hungary sold for 6X opening bid, that coin is known from 100 ex. The three coins you won, maybe the steal of the day. I am glad they found a "good home" with you. John PS: CNG has some really nice AR coinage next event.
Auctions can be a strange thing. I felt todays results were very weak in the Greek category while in the Roman everything went very high (and I did not buy a single Roman lot).
Indeed, I got this one for 190$. Worn die as usual but still a ridiculously low price. I felt sorry for the seller
Wow. That was very cheap indeed. But then again I have seen that Greek are cooling down last couple of years while Roman continue to increase. Just goes to show that there are always bargains out there.
