Looking for a grade, I know its worn and see the scratches. Hard to find barbers that were in circulation that are in great shape they as they were so subject to wear almost like buffalo nickels.

Silly me had it posted as a 1994 quarter instead of a 1894 quarter. Oops!!! Fortunately Spock and jake caught it. Thanks for having my back spock.

And that is all that she wrote.

Nice quarter, I'd say VG10 also. This is a great set to collect. I just started one myself a few weeks ago.

You just started the Barber quarters?
    Tell us about your set.
    What grades are you considering?
Tough set, especially in high grade.
And, there are some very surprising tough dates (besides the big four, that is).
    Good luck.

Hey Frank! I just started this set a few weeks ago and so far have only bought five coins and I'm hoping to keep all of the coins consistant with each other as far as the grades go. My hopes are to stay with VF-XF. So far I have the 1892, 1892-S, 1912, 1913 and 1914. The 1913 is a little lower in grade but I'll be upgrading that as soon as I find one that I like. I know its a challenging set to complete but I think that within a year I can have it completed. Thanks for asking.

I'd say vg/f. I like those circulated used Barbers better than uncirculated ones. It adds some character to an otherwise bland design. Nice coin!

    A few weeks!
And you already have a 92 S in VF?
    You must know somebody!
Lawrence lists it in VF as an R-4.

And the '13 P. Even if 'only' in a fine that is another tough coin!

Also, check your 92 S, there is a nice RPM for that date.

Note that the 1910 D and the 1911 D & S are very tough in those grades, so if you have a chance, grab them!
[I get every one that I see, which isn't that many, in any grade from G and up.]

Yea, I guess I was just at the right place at the right time. The seller must have been having a slow day, and at a local flea market no less. I've met this seller a few times before I bought any Barber quarters from him.

I'll check out the 92-S real good tomorrow, too tired tonight, spent all day upstate with my wife and step son at baseball tournaments he was participating in.

    I'll look for the 1910-D and 1911-D & S also.

Thanks for the advice and tips Frank.

Just get a copy of the guide book and look at the mintages.
I am sure that you'll be very surprised, especially as compared to the prices.
