I know! I thought it was Wednesday and put in a high bid about i min. before end. I was out walking my dog and noticed that the garbage was out, Tuesday is our day for that.... I really had a brain freeze up....must be the awfull weather, its -16 windchill.
The scientist back in the 70s predicted an impending Ice Age, then they went 360 and jumped on the "Global warming" bandwagon. Last year we had snow on the ground from Nov. 5th to end of April. This year, we have 15 cm. on ground, temps. tonite -16/ -24 windchill. Even colder in Western Canada.
Wow! I don't believe we've every seen anyone post an auction win the day before the auction! Let us know tomorrow if you actually win it. Interesting coin! "Climate change"-- which encompasses greater extremes of weather both hot and cold-- would be the more accurate way to describe the issue. Although drastic changes in climate are a natural part of Earth's history, the rate of change in our current cycle more rapid than anticipated. But I'd better shut up about it lest the thread get political.
I always bragged that the human brain never freezes up like our computers do so often, I must confess, I had a super brain cramp today. I thought it was Wednesday, I was all into that auction deadline. Then early afternoon, while I was walking my dog, I clued in...everyone had the garbage out/ garbage day is Tuesday in Orleans Even worse, I made my stupidity public, now I have to carry my burden of shame Back to weather, the Christmas song, Baby its cold outside " aptly sums up our November so far. Hopefully, the long range forecast is right, they are predicting a warmup next week, by "warmup" I mean +3 celsius! But, it would melt the snow and allow me to complete my Fall leaf cleanups. John
I very nearly did the opposite thing to what you did the other day. I was so excited I almost posted a coin I thought I won at an auction I’ve never used before through sixbid. It was a coin I’ve been looking for for at least 2 years. The last one I could find selling was in 2007. It closed at my max. I was stoked. So much so I almost posted the auction photo. I emailed the auction house and found out I didn’t win. So don’t feel too bad. Stay warm, my friend.
Yeah, I did once win one, but the auction company sent me a note, that the coin had been withdrawn. I had the highest bid right to the end. But, I guess the consignor thought the bid was not high enough. But as fate had it, I won that same coin in a Slovakian Auction (Macho & Chapolick) a feww years later. john PS: It starting to look a lot like Christmas!
Nice I'm winning a coin at cng as well but I'm not posting it till I know I've won it will be my last coin of 2019 too
Just to clarify, when we look at the pattern of ices ages--the rate at which they come and go--that have occurred over the past couple hundred thousand years or so, it's pretty obvious that we should be heading into an ice age. Instead we see a warming trend. Thus, the 360.
Wow! I am amazed that bidder handle really exists. My wife had a dog named "Clio", she misspelt it, since she referred to her as Cleopatra. It was a golden retreiver. A lawn client had a Rottie female (lovely dog) named Cleopatra. I like "Thor"/ Loki"/ "Wotan"/ "Zeus" for male dogs. I guess, I got a bit off topic, but I love dogs too! John
I had a german shorthaired pointer which was the most stuborn creature I ever met but I still loved him...But let us not diverge from the discussion, of course "Clio" exists and is notorious for bidding 2-3 seconds before closure. Somehow he now bid much earlier. What a coincidence! And you also have a 4-letter name and a dog named Clio
