Thanks Mike. When I highlighted and clicked on "properties", each of the links in this thread from the original poster and a subsequent poster contained: " http://rover.ebay.com/rover" at the beginning of it. Is that something that the Ebay seller could have set up? TheOracle, do you know anything about that? Thanks.

Nothing to worry about, Mark. As long as the last two pairs (ebay.com) are the same, there should be no worries -- rover, from my understanding, is just a way to track referrals and do traffic analysis...Mike

p.s. if it went to someplace like "rover.hacker.net" or any non-"ebay.com" domain, you should be worried.

    Mark,
Can you find any eBay link that DOES NOT have rover in it. Everyone I could find outside this thread does. I suspect that it has something to do with CT itself. I do not remember what the site was, but Peter used to have a deal where he received monies for running all links through a specific site.

I hadn't tried, and based on your post, I don't intend to. Thanks. :)

I think if you do a search for the domain it shows it to be an affiliate program of Ebay that tracks through Commission Junction.

Every ebay link on this forum goes though the Rover thingy. I think it may be some kind of revenue thing for CT.

And on the coin the letters of IGWT are all the same size. The way the light is hitting the W is causing it to only light up the top surfaces of the inside of the W. Since that is all you are seeing clearly, you see just that as a small W. The "missing" leg of the R is caused by the same thing but for the opposite reason. The light is coming in parallel to the leg and so it is not highlighting ANY of it, so it seems to disappear. If you look carefully you can see the full size W and the leg of the R.

Caused, amost asuredly, by a low-angle light (i.e. a light close to parallel to the plane of the coin)....Mike

    Photo my ST GAUDEN

Here's close-up of my ST Gaudens, note bold "IN GOD WE TRUST" There may be damage too lettering of ST GAUDENS up for auction? Why doesn't the seller remove it from holder and get a good close-up pic so buyers can really take a good look. :) ozark

First of all not all of them are struck equally. And not everyone even knows how to get good pics of a coin. And he may not want to get good pics of the coin, hoping he gets more money for it than it deserves.

I've said this a thousand times, it is way more important that you know your seller than it is that you know your coins when buying on a venue like ebay.
