I've been waiting all day to see if anyone would start a thread like this so here go's...any of you Dads out there get coins for fathers day? Number four daughter got me nice unc. Eisenhower centennial silver dollar in OGP. Guess who just became #1 daughter(LOL).
Nice gift! Lucky that you got something you can enjoy! The last time anyone tried to get me a coin related gift, it ended up being something I did not want. And if I wanted to use it, would have to spend more money on special holders and mess up the whole order of my collection. I just tell people to play it safe and if they are not sure, just get a gift card. :thumb:
I am working on one... to treat myself. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300232087516
That is one fine looking Connecticut! Good luck with it! My son got me a proof set as he knew I was looking into some various dates. A 1962 with a FBL Franklin and a FB Roosy. And that was a lucky pull as he really doesn't follow those particulars. Those I can see with the naked eye. The nickel I'll have to scope to check out the steps. I hope everyone else is having as nice of a day!
Jim - Thanks for the well wishes. I will definitely let everyone know if I get it. Its getting kinda high though. Thats awesome that your son got you those coins, and lucky grabs too. BTW - welcome to the forum! Joe
No coins , woke up to a heck of a storm , knocked power out to 100,000 people , my son bought me a power generator , kept ours & 2 neighbors basements from flooding . Well it gives us peace of mind . Happy Fathers Day !!!!!!! rzage
nope, they took me out to eat, spent enough to buy several nice coins. I would rather have had a snack for lunch & spent the money on something important, like coins. ozark
Yes, it's an Irish Conder token. And a fairly rare one! About $90 or so in that grade. I came across one of these in very rough shape and someone on one of the other coin forums helped me figure it out. Congrats on the nice addition! :thumb:
No problem jaxsdad just go here It's the second one from the bottom. It's the same condition as yours, lucky! And for the record, I think "woodcock" is pretty darn funny as well! There's a lot of us Freudian types out there. :high5:
