The markets can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent, and the dollar can retain value longer than your heart can maintain circulation. But if you're able to support yourself, and having most of your wealth in PMs makes you happy/comfortable/sanguine, who am I to judge?
I’d be willing to bet if she had 13,000 Morgans laying around all these years she probably has other assets in place that keep her boat floating nicely.
Yep. I don't see her in the "take them to the bank because the CoinStar wouldn't accept them" demographic.
Small error in the article, the 16K hoard that turned up earlier were not 16K CC mint coins. Just goes to show that there are still hoards of dollars hiding out there from the major deaw down of silver dollars that occured in the early 60's. What else my come to light in the future as the old hoarders die off?
A good question is whether those hoards will be gradeable coins or worn out pieces good for little but silver content. Large numbers of graded coins could depress prices.
Hoards like this that were put away back during the Treasury free for all will be mostly MS so a great many will be gradable. Remember this hoard and the 16K coin hoard were all in mint sewn bags.
