    Helllo everyone!
I found this 1957 Lincoln Penny in pocket-change a while back. My first impression was that someone's finger prints was left on the planchette somehow during the minting process. I am new to coin-roll hunting.

Any ideas or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Some touched it with their grubby fingers sometime during its 62 years of life. Shame.

Thanks furryfrog02. I tried wiping it with a dry cloth, but nothing. The prints are imbedded.

They will eventually etch themselves into the coin. Unfortunately your coin is just damaged.
A dip in acetone may help but I don't know at this point.

I don't think it was done at the mint.
