The most expensive thing in our collection right now is an 1863 North Carolina $3 note.

I'm not an expert at grading paper currency, but it looks CU to me. Paid $85.

I have some put up in the retirement set that are now worth a whole lot more than I paid. Recent purchases ? Probably the 55 doubled die.

I just purchased 3 amazing Standing Lib Quarters last week. All PCGS certified. 1917 Type 1 MS 67 FH none finer, 1929 D MS 65 FH 11 Finer and a 1930 MS 67 FH none finer. For the set I paid 9k. Too bad I don't have the money to keep them but they are amazing coins that just pop out of he holders. Sad to say that they have already been sold as well. The best coins I have ever had the chance to purchase though.

    greetings all!
lost my phone service and cooked my modem and answering machine (and outside box..tho it was probably 30-40 yrs old) due to lightning and floods here in indiana. i never realized how dependent i have become on technology as well as being hooked on the cointalk forum!!
i am a poor collector. my most expensive coin i purchased has been a saint at $620/oz gold. i sold it for $900...so far i have been right and wrong regarding the profit, as far as hitting it at the right price. i made an excellent profit % for an 18 month an investment.
i am old enough to remember 1980 so i based my decision on speculation as well as financial needs. time will tell whether i am an idiot or not...but it was still fair exchange for me.
currently, my most expensive coin i have purchased is an ms 64 graded 1898 pl morgan in an old pcgs green holder for $178 at an auction. i may have overpaid, but it is simply gorgeous! (to me at least)!!!!
now revealed as the true "widget" collector i am.....3 1/2 yrs and 42 coins into the morgan date/mint series.. another 10 or so yrs and i may complete it!!!
glad to be able to access this forum again...i missed you guys and your comments!!!
    best wishes...steve

Thank you for your concern. we had over 9" of rain in a few hrs. the highest level the water had reached near big walnut creek (close to where i live)was 21 ft. it crested at 33' this yr. i have never seen it so flooded. other areas have been hit much worse than ours tho still was considered disaster area.
the sad part is many do not have flood insurance and their homes and vehicles have been underwater. please pray for them and consider your red cross for donations if you can afford it.
    May God Bless you all.................steve

May God bless and keep and protect all of you in the mid-west. I had an experiance two years ago involving a flood in upstate New York. I know what you folks are going through.
