I'm looking through my 2001-P Kentucky quarter roll and came across an interested specimen. The reverse of the quarter on the motto "MY OLD KENTUCKY HOME" is missing the "D" in old. Wondering if anyone has come across this error? ERROR - 2001P MY OL KENTUCKY HOME - Missing D.jpg

That's not one I have seen before but it is just a grease filled die. Check out the Kansas "In God We Rust" quarters.

Yeah I've seen the coin too. Lots of talk on that Kansas quarter but no chatter on this one.

I'm going with a grease filled Die.

It's a minor greased filled die issue. Nothing that would make the cover of CoinWorld magazine.
    But thanks for sharing.

As others have said, you have a minor filled die error. Cool coin IMO and a real error, but you would have to be lucky to find someone who would pay you more than face value for it.

The “IN GOD WE RUST” Kansas quarter is just a simple filled die error. It’s no different than any other coin having a filled letter. However, it was hyped as being “special”, so novice collectors think it’s a valuable coin, especially after seeing some of the “get rich from pocket change” youtube junk. If you talk with an experienced error collector, you’ll find out that it’s nothing special. The 1999 Delaware “spitting horse” is another one that falls into this category, interesting but not special.

FWIW: Hyping minor errors has been happening for a long time. Many older collectors can recall the 1955 “poor man’s doubled die” (die deterioration) or the Bugs Bunny Franklins (minor die clash)

    Hope this helps

Its really helpful to having professional collects giving great feed backs. I just posted a 2016-P Kentucky Cumberland Gap ATB quarter with numerous interesting errors. I'd be very interested in getting your feed back. Thanks again
