Roman Imperial Haul

    Hey everyone,

    Just thought I'd share four of my recent acquisitions.

    Trajan (98-117 AD)
    AV Aureus

    Obv: IMP TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right.
    Rev: COS V P P S P Q R OPTIMO PRINC, Libertas standing left, holding pileus and vindicta.
    Weight: 7.1 grams
    RIC II 123
    Ex: ANE, Calgary Coin

    Herennius Etruscus, As Caesar (249-251 AD)
    AE Sestertius

    Obv: Q HER ETR MES DECIVS NOB C, Bareheaded and draped bust right.
    Rev: PRINCIPI IVVENTVTIS, Herennius standing left, holding baton and spear.
    Weight: 17.27 grams
    RIC IV 171a

    AR Siliqua

    Obv: DN CONSTANS PF AVG, pearl-diademed head right.
    Rev: VOTIS XXV MVLTIS XXX in four lines within wreath.
    Mint: Nicomedia
    Weight: 3.04 grams

    AR siliqua

    Obv: DN VALENTINI-ANVS PF AVG, pearl diademed, draped, cuirassed bust right.
    Rev: VRBS-ROMA, Roma seated left on throne, holding Victory on globe and sceptre.
    Mint: Trier
    Weight: 2.28 grams

    Superb haul, @Roman Collector ! All of them are great but the Constans looks to be about as perfect an ancient coin as I’ve seen. The images are sharp, solidly struck, well centered, and the toning is beautiful.
