I've been trying to scan coins so I could post them on Cointalk right? But I've left them in they're holders and when it scans, the plastic refelcts making a big shiny mess. Wow, just one of those weeks I guess.

We all learn. The best way to scan them is to put them in a 2x2 flip. That way the coins dont actually hit the scanner. They shouldnt shine (mine don't)

I think your scanners light it too bright , it happens to my dads scanner makes them all so shiny that you cant see them lol

Cameras are the best way to get an image posted on the board. Scans really don't show much in the way of luster.

Put a piece of black construction paper or felt between the coin and the lid to your scanner. It will help absorb a lot of that intense light. It won't eliminate all glare, but it helps a lot.
