1924 Peace dollar in GEM BU!

The seller says: "This coin is not ugly, scrap that are up for sell on many pages. If you want the best for your collection don't miss this coin. This is a true Gem mint, lustrous, extra clean, and very sparkly Peace Dollar. I haven't seen anything nice like this ones on ebay for a long time."

Perhaps he sould search under: Ugly coins?

No additional charge for the polishing machine!

    Yeah, but shipping is free!

I've archived his picture for reference as an example of the difference between "lusterous" and "highly polished".

    Talk about mutilating a coin!

But he's getting bids, and will continue to do so... *sigh*

Wow..I wonder if you get a free buffer with the purchase of each BU coin. Its now got 3 bids and its up to $11.05, reserve still not met....simply amazing. Why would someone in their right mind even consider bidding on junk like this....nevermind, I already know....because its PRETTY!!!

BTW...Has anyone emailed this seller and broke the bad news to him yet?

Oh...I forgot to mention, has anyone read the feedback he's recieved for a few of the other Peace Dollars this seller has sold....the buyers actually like them and he's gotten positive feedback for them...haha. Here are a few from his feedback list.

One guy says.."Great Item. As described and pictured" Here's the auction...

This guy says.."Nice coin" same thing here.

I noticed your conversation about this seller. One of the other 'Gem BU' coins is this poor Morgan: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140238790405&ssPageName=MERC_VI_RCRX_Pr12_PcY_BID_Stores_IT&refitem=140238786286&itemcount=12&refwidgetloc=active_view_item&usedrule1=CrossSell_LogicX&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget&_trksid=p284.m184&_trkparms=algo%3DCRX%26its%3DS%252BI%252BSS%26itu%3DISS%252BUCI%252BSI%26otn%3D12

Can anyone see more detail in the 'etching' on her face? It looks like the letters JET to me, but my eyesight may be playing tricks on me.....

We see coins like this at the shop. Look like they got chromed.

We call them proofs as we laugh.
