  1. Let's just go all commerative!

Cent: Lincoln's proposed designs for 2009. Then Secretaries of State.

    Nickel: Secretaries of Treasury.

Dime: 2nd spouses (spouses of vice presidents)

    Quarter: Secretaries of Agriculture

    Halves: Vice Presidents

    Dollar: Continue with Presidents.

    2 dollar coin: State capitals!

    :)

I think the whole thing is a joke. How about we do a series on something of interest.

Maybe a series of Presidentail Mistresses. That should run us for 100 or so years. Shoot Clinton could take up a few years himself.

    How about a counties program?

There have to be hundreds, if not thousands of counties in the 50 states?

    Food for thought.

    hmmm.....
only 50 million Suffolk county, New York dimes.
Gotta be the key to the set.

There's a method to my madness Kanga.

I figure George Washington on the front and my nekkid butt on the rear so to speak.

We'd be back to the good old eagle in no time!;)

    they are ahead of us.

There is a new announcement on the Mint's web site:

    effective 2010:

    Commemorative quarters program:

every citizen of the US will have his/her own commemorative quarter, showing their picture.

The Jeffrson nickels will continue, but they will show only illegals.

[there is a contest to try to guess which set will be longer.]

Please God stop Mike Castle, this is all legacy building.

I think my dad collected crap like this in the seventies on silver ingots from the Franklin Mint:mad:

Blame Canada. they're the ones who started this whole thing. I just found an Ontario quarter (dated 1992) in my change last week! The millenium quarters are easy to find in change up there, although the two circulating commemeratives they do each year are harder to find.

Currently, they're doing a 2010 Winter Olympics series for circulation. We should have done that for Salt Lake City in 2002 instead of the silver dollar. The idea is good, having rotating designs, but eight to ten a year, no way!

Howabout Government Bailouts? First up, Ford, GM and Chrysler. For each Quarter sold. 5 cents goes to either one of the companies to help keep them in business.
