Its a low mintage in the "modern Jefferson nickels series" roughly 44 million minted in Denver off the top of my head. My goal is to own 0.01% of the total population one day around 44 thousand!

I would have to guess around 12-15. But who knows might get some type of collection dump through out the year to come!

Nope. I check each 39 Philadelphia right when I get it! I also post photos of every 39 I find just in case I miss something :)

Alright so this next box is insane. Heading back to the banks today to pick up 7 boxes and then 6 boxes tomorrow. Hopefully I can catch another one like this! Should have it up within the hour!

Nothing much to say. Pretty low finding box but can't complain about a nice silver with some lamination issues on the obverse. A very nicely toned one as well.

Master list updated from 34-41 total boxes below. Silver is falling behind. Surprisingly a lot more V nickels then I thought I would find. Averaging around a buffalo every 4 boxes is low as well. Hopefully it picks up. The 50D was a nice add to the list this past week!

Very happy overall with this box. No silver but some nice errors and a key date 38s! A foreign we haven't got yet. A very nice BU 73 with some strong steps.

That was decent! I wonder if a Shield will turn up in 500 boxes. That would be really cool. Has it happened for you before? Anyone here?

With 458 boxes to go, I guess anything could happen.

A 1 in a 1,000,000 find? We will have to wait and see!!

The only shield I've found was in a customer wrapped roll years ago. Not going to find one in a bank wrapped roll. The Shield nickel is 20.5mm. It is smaller then liberty, buffalo, and Jefferson nickels. I'm not saying it's completely impossible but highly unlikely.

The Ducat I found was a little smaller and lighter than a Jefferson. 2 cent euros also turn up regularly. I'm guessing that it is possible, but I have only heard of one being found in another forum. But nothing in the past 6-7 years. However, even the heavy CRH enthusiasts don't normally get through 500 boxes in a couple of years or 3. So we will have to see. Are you keeping your Buffalo from this challenge separate (thinking about the dateless)?

I count the dateless buffalos as well with the total buffalo count on the master list. Date or no date it still counts as a buffalo find :)

    I’m curious of the following:

How many circulation sets of Jefferson Nickels will your challenge yield?
How close to a complete set of Buffalo (including pickled and dateless) Nickels will your challenge yield?
How close to a complete set of V-Nickels will your challenge yield?
Will you find a complete roll of 1942 D Nickels?
Will you find a complete roll of 1939 rev 38?
Will you find a Henning nickel or a major DDO or DDR?

just a few things rolling through my brain. Time will tell!

Not to bad of a box. Nice die clash not as strong as the others but is is still present on obverse and reverse.

I will definitely track the buffalo and V nickels to see if we can get close to putting a set together. The Jefferson sets unfortunately I have around 5 BU sets already and have stopped building Jefferson sets. But I pull out all the AU/BU from 89 and earlier. Maybe we can put a set of pre 89 together :)

The Henning nickel is still something I have never pulled. I would love to find one in the wild!

I think for sure we will have a complete roll of both the 42d and the 39 with 38 reverse.

I am always looking for the 39 ddr which is also one of my favorites to find. But I am always looking for major varieties. Im sure one will pop up!

I think your updates will bear out how many sets you can build. I’m guessing 2-3 relative to the 50D and 39D. But there is always a nemesis coin that doesn’t reveal itself for whatever reason (used to be the 1942D) for me. But the scarce low mintage show over time how elusive they are.
