I hope to be able to pass along some knowledge to a future numismatist. First grandchild is getting his personality. He doesn't know it yet, but he has a good start on a collection. ;)

Hi, I am new here.... So, learning to navigate my way around here.. I just recently have begun to seriously collect again... I had a pretty large collection years ago... Now nothing exciting... I lost everything in a fire including my baseball card collection so really heartbreaking to look at certain things... Even had dollar bills at one time I just found out one similar sold for MILLIONS because serial # was 00001209 or similar... And I had 4 in sequence such as 00000021-0000024 and they were crisp... Really heartbreaking to learn you were a Multi-millionaire and didn't know it! Hahahaha ... Or close maybe.. I dunno..
Hi everyone! Two Old.. pretty worn 1943 Steel Pennies and what seems to be a replated 1993? Maybe?!

Those were commemoratives that year, as it was the 100th anniversary of the Canadian confederation. They're pretty common.

Essentially, they're like our Bicentennial coins were here in the USA, but for a centennial, not bicentennial.

Pretty sure you can indeed enter here. You just did. (I do not see any other entry post from you in this month's giveaway, so you're valid.)

Nice Owl. I don't have an Athenian one yet.

Edit- oh, wait. I see you posted after the midnight deadline, but that's OK, since I'm running behind on doing the drawings. You're in.

Will fire up the random number generator and do the drawings as soon as I get a chance.

The November giveaway may or may not be a little late in launching, as I'll be traveling later today. (We'll see if I can squeeze that in before we leave.)

And now the October drawings begin! :)

    Jumping right in...

The first lucky number drawn was 104.

@Mark1971, per your preferences, you just won Prize #1. That's the "Pick Bin" prize from me, so you get to make your selection from that list! Just let us know what your choice was, and send me your shipping address in a private message.

Prize #1 (from "lordmarcovan"): winner's choice of any item from my "Pick Bin" list

The next lucky number drawn was 101.

As y'all can see by the "note to self" I added earlier, I let him slide on not putting his prize preferences in his entry post this time. (His prize picks were posted a little further down, in Post #110.)

@Chuck_A - your first choice, Prize #1, was won by @Mark1971 in the first draw, so you get your second choice, meaning you just won Prize #7, the book prize from Stacks-Bowers, which was donated by @trogdor on their behalf. Contact @trogdor via private message. (I'll also send out a big group PM in a little while, so all the donors and winners can get together.)

Prize #7 (from "trogdor", on behalf of Stacks-Bowers Galleries): deluxe hardbound copy of "The 1822 Gold Half Eagle: Story of a Rarity", by Q. David Bowers (signed by the author)

The next (almost-) lucky number drawn corresponded to a post by someone who posted three entry posts, and is thus disqualified per Rule #1 in the introduction. Only one eligible entry post is allowed per member, though multiple conversational posts are allowed.

(Yes, I use the search engine to check.)

The next lucky number drawn was 6.

@Shrews1994, you were lucky enough to have your first choice still be available when your number came up, so you win Prize #5, the lot from @Jamee Növötney! Y'all get together via private message.

Prize #5 (from "Jamee Növötney"): twelve-coin lot: 8 US nickels, 1 Chinese coin, and 3 mystery bonus coins

The next (almost-) lucky number corresponded to a post by someone who said he had nothing coin-related to add. So he must have read the rules, but chose to ignore them? Since that fails to comply with Rule #2 in the intro, that would-be entry is disqualified.

The next (and last) lucky number drawn was 44.

Post #44 was by @don oswald!

@don oswald, since yours was the last number drawn, you get what's left: Prize #3. But as it happens, that was your third choice. This was the PCGS World Cup commemorative donated by @eric6794. Y'all get together via private message.

Prize #3 (from "eric6794"): a USA 1994-D World Cup commemorative half dollar, PCGS MS69, in John Mercanti autographed holder
