Check out the reverse die-cracks on this XFish 1827/6 Half. The coin is an O-101 variety and rated as an R-2 coin. Please chime in if you care to. Take Care Ben
Those are great die cracks. And a question, since I know nothing about these: do the obverse star points extend to the rim due to design, die deterioration, or deformation because of the open collar strike (I assume this is open collar)?
From what I understand it could be any of a number of things associated with: #1, Die Deterioration, #2, Yes, those Open Collars, #3, Screw Press Pressure, #4, Annealing process of the planchet, etc. Take Care Ben
Bonedigger , I only have 1 CBH , because most that I see are problem coins , where do you find all your BH , they are truly beatiful & original coins . rzage
Well Sir, "I have the eye" chuckle... according to the dealer who has my Bust Half Fever and #4 Overton books at some big coin show in California. He's a damn good fellow and I'd trust my family with him. As to the coins themselves, besides those my dad had and left to me guess I got them from all over the (cyber) place; Vcoins, Him, Ebay, etc... And NO, I'm not a member of the BHNC. Yet...
