I was just looking at the mints web site and saw this. I wouldn't call it breathtaking. but nice eagle. It's going to be 2.5 ounce Diameter: 2.000 inches (50.80 mm) A breathtaking rendition of Lady Liberty Contains 99.9 percent fine silver with high relief design First 2.5-ounce medal ever produced by the U.S. Mint Minted at the Philadelphia facility Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity https://catalog.usmint.gov/american...er-medal-19DB.html?cgid=2019-product-schedule
Not to me. The image is just strange looking. The eagle looks like something that was used on a different coin.
Not "breathtaking" so much as "head-exploding". Maybe someone will offer colorized versions where poor Lady Liberty's skull is restored.
That's funny! Mint advertising, diversity and political correctness at it's finest! No Lady Liberty I recognize. Give my 17 year old with a CAD could be the Mint's Chief Engraver!
Wait, what? It's just a goofy rendering of rays -- at least, I don't think it was intended as equal representation for Plagiocephalic-Americans...
Looks to me the mint was going for a Peace Dollar effect and failed . I'm going to get 1 for the Eagle reverse though .
When it hits $55 on the secondary market I'll be in for one. The reverse is a beautiful design. Maybe display it with the reverse facing forward
I like it. Too bad we can't get the mint to replace one of the boring dead white dudes on a circulating coin with her.
Gotta agree! Tonight is the first time I heard about it, so I was a little impressed until I saw the price tag. Nice but no !
