    I was hoping to get an idea of how many of you slabbers Will slab world coins or just U. S. Obviously with world you can find some pretty nice coins to slab but unlike U.S. with world you will have to find a buyer. For example I slabed a 1960-D. W. German mark I felt would go MS-63 and MS-63 it went. Nice looking coin book has it at 750.00 in that grade but I know to sell it I would have to find someone looking for it in that condition and most likely will not bring all the book value. I am going to tally the would against the would nots. Just think it would be helpful to know.

    Well I really don't do either what I do do.... oops! What I do is buy the collection and then try and decided what if any coins from that collection are worthy of a slab because I believe U.S. or world the coin has a better chance of resale if a " professional has given it a blessing

    It's understandable. But some collectors care less for slabs. I love slabs. But I ony do it to attribute my mint errors. I don't worry much about value.
    Except a normal 1996 W Dime I sent in once.

    Did you just respond to yourself?

    Also, most world coin collectors do not care about the coins being slabbed. We all have so many that slabbing them is impossible. I hate to say this, but I'll be surprised if you get over $75 for your 1960-D Mark. There are still plenty out there in low MS, and it's not a key date/MM.

    It all depends on what you expect to get from slabbing it:
    * Authentication
    * Protect the coin
    * Grade confirmation
    * Marketability

    If you are looking at marketability, you need to determine:
    * Does the market for this coin want slabbed items – If you have a 1909-SVDB, then slabbing is important. Do potential customers of world coins want them slabbed?
    * Will you get a payback on your fees when selling the coin graded vs raw?

    Yeah but a professional" put his blessing on this one and besides that was just an example the question I posted could stand for any world coin I mean pick any. One more important.
